GEOLOGY OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND TERRITORY WITH THEMATIC MAPPING

Academic Year 2026/2027 - Teacher: FRANCESCO CARNEMOLLA

Expected Learning Outcomes

Acquisition of knowledge related to the characterization of the territory on the basis of geological, geomorphological and tectonic structure. Ability to estimate the environmental risk through the study of the hazard factors of the events related to the main geological and geomorphological processes.

Ability to read linear and areal elements on geological maps; ability to read and interpret the legend of geological maps, at various scales, aimed at the reconstruction of the tectono-stratigraphic structure of the studied area. Interpretation of large scale geological data, for the landscape and the environment conservation.

Course Structure

Lectures.

Should tuition be delivered via a blended or distance learning format, the necessary adjustments may be made to the arrangements set out above in order to adhere to the planned programme as set out in the syllabus.

Information for students with disabilities and/or specific learning difficulties

To ensure equal opportunities and in accordance with current legislation, students who wish to do so may request a personal meeting to arrange any necessary compensatory and/or adaptive measures, based on the learning objectives and their specific needs.

You may also contact the CInAP (Centro per l’integrazione Attiva e Partecipata - Servizi per le Disabilità e/o i DSA - Centre for Active and Participatory Integration – Services for Disabilities and/or Specific Learning Difficulties) reference professor of our Department: Prof. Giuseppina Alongi (Area BIO) and Prof. Gabriele Lanzafame (Area GEO).
