The reasearch areas are molecular biology and plant biology. In particular the PhD project is focused on on studying the molecular mechanisms that regulate the germination response in non-model Brassicaceae.
The research carried out until now has covered:
- Transcriptomic analyses using of ONT-Nanopore sequencing technology
- Gene expression analyses of non-model species seeds in relation to the germination process, abiotic stresses and embryogenesis
- Collaboration in the implementation of bioinformatics tools for primer creation in non-model species
- Genetic diversity of endemic species at the risk of extinction
- Identification of plant species using DNA barcoding
